Vintage Stokes Trading Company Oklahoma Stoneware Coffee Mug
Y’all know I have a serious weakness when it comes to coffee mugs. I buy a lot of them and I sell a lot of them. Some of them are big $ and some are little $. This was an example of little money.
I accepted an offer on this mug for $6 on eBay and the buyer paid shipping. I bought it, because it was a vintage souvenir mug from the 80s and it was a solid stoneware mug with a great western theme. I only paid $1 for it at I believe a restore in January, so this took almost nine months to sell. Since it’s a small twelve ounce mug it easily fit into a 5” square box and I could ship it first class. After eBay fees, shipping and CoGS, I still made $5.92, which is a 5 times return on my initial investment.
Mugs are easy for me to photograph and list and easily store in my spare kitchen cupboards. I know they aren’t everyone’s favorite to ship, but I do have a video for that here. I’m glad it’s going off to it’s new home and that another vintage piece is being used and loved instead of helping to fill a landfill.
