Jasperware Wedgewood - I Broke My Rule
No Jasperware.
That was my rule.
The reason for that rule is that 80% of booths in antique malls around me have it and cannot move it at the full current retail, or at an inflated retail from what comps are going for on eBay. I even mentioned that in one of my videos showing why I rarely source at antique stores in my area, which you can watch here. Part of the reason I rarely source at antique stores here is location. I work near Colonial Williamsburg, so these antique dealers know what they have or are basing the prices off of what they were 20 years ago.
I broke my own rule when I saw this piece at the DAV by my house for $14.97. I had never seen this particular piece of Jasperware and it was on a shelf with pieces surrounded by pieces I see all the time. I had not seen it before I checked comps, and was pleasantly surprised. The sell through was nearly complete and at the $50-$75 range plus shipping.
I listed it and it sold within a week of listing on an eBay offer at $50.00 plus shipping. After fees, shipping, and original purchase price, this fast flip netted me $28.57. I’m always happy to double my money in profit, especially so quickly. I may have to edit my rule to only Jasperware if it’s antique OR something I’ve not seen before, but I would happily buy this to flip again.
