Today, I received an email from Twitch, stating that all US Affiliates and Partners have the opportunity to win an hour of Front Page time by setting up the new Channel Points feature offered by Twitch. There are two things I found incredibly interesting about this email.

One, I can apparently buy Front Page promotion time on Twitch. The link to this product is here. There are not rates listed for this product, as I’m sure each time slot has a different rate due to traffic fluctuations and which slot in the carousel you are interested in purchasing.

Two, Twitch made sure not to include a value for this in their Sweepstakes Rules, despite it being a product for sale, which actually violates most states’ consumer protection acts and sweepstakes laws. Even with a fluctuating value base on the aforementioned factors, they could have worded the value as “up to (amount of money)”.

I emailed Twitch support about it, since there is no other way to contact or ask questions. I’m sure by doing so I completely lost any chance of winning, and also got on the naughty list. I bring this up, because Twitch states it wants to be “Transparent”, and being owned by Amazon, you think they’d try to mitigate more liability than create it. I included SS, in case Twitch does make changes to show that this did in fact occur.
